Day 24: Groking kinematic graphs


Today we whiteboarded the second half of graph stacks. We were done with 20 minutes to spare, so we went back to the lab so kids could replicate the stacks with motion detectors, carts, and inclined planes. Above you see number 16 (the sheet we whiteboarded is held up next to it), and below you see number 10.


P.S. I heard the term Groking somewhere recently as meaning to understand something in your gut, so that your natural response is the correct one. So I’ve been preaching to my kids about how we’re aiming to grok physics.
